Poetry
Music is poetry and poetry is lyrical. Hannah loves both. Poetry is accessible and doesn't have to be good to mean something. The art of writing itself is incredibly personal, but, for Hannah, every poem she has ever written has surrounded mental health, sexuality, and faith.
Never give an angsty teenager a journal and a fountain pen and expect them not to jot down anything other than knock-off Bring Me the Horizon lyrics.
Creative Nonfiction
A life of journalling and story-telling has inspired many nonfiction pieces. Introduced to her in college, Hannah was able to write about the experiences in her life in a more abstract way.
short stories & Novels
The genre of make believe and imagination is where Hannah's art truly lies. She fell in love with storytelling and and character development when she was a young child. She filled the passion with FanFiction in middle school and high school, but was always writing about her own characters in little scribbles on this paper and that napkin.
The big dream is to write a NYT best-selling novel and have it turned into a streamable mini series and be invited to work on the screenplay. Maybe she'll be able to meet some of her favorites character actors and be one of the few white people invited to talk on her go-to podcast, The Read.
